Every mile I ride is proof that research matters. Your donation keeps it going.

This year, I’m riding and racing across Texas as the Southern Team Captain for Traversing for Telomere Research (TTR) — and I’m asking you to be part of it.

I live with a Telomere Biology Disorder. Completing a full cycling season — with rides up to 100 miles, often without stopping — takes careful planning, pacing, and recovery. But I choose to ride because visibility matters, research matters, and our community matters.

TTR is Team Telomere’s reimagined fundraiser, building on a legacy that has raised over $1.3M for TBD research since 2014. That work traces back to Team Josh’s DCO Riders, formed in 2015 in honor of Joshua Friedman, who passed away from Dyskeratosis Congenita in 2011. Josh’s story — and the stories of so many others — is why this research continues.

Telomere biology disorders are rare, complex, and serious. Treatment options are limited. But research is making a real difference: safer transplant approaches, novel therapies aimed at restoring telomere function, and a deeper understanding of the health challenges patients face every day.

Our Southern Team’s goal this year is $75,000. Every dollar goes directly toward patient-informed research — science shaped by the people it’s meant to help.

You don’t have to ride a single mile to make a difference. A donation of any size moves this work forward. Sharing this page does too. And if all you can do is send a word of encouragement on a race day — that matters more than you know.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
