Help Us Share Good News This Giving Tuesday!

On Oct 12, 2022, my husband, Tom Insley, lost his battle with a Telomere Biology Disorder (TBD). It wasn't until the last 9 months of his life that we put together the pieces of several idiopathic diagnoses to understand what was happening. A Telomere Biology Disorder was causing his bone marrow failure, pulmonary fibrosis and head/neck cancer, among other things. Since Tom's death, I made it my mission to help others get diagnosed earlier, receive support and care to navigate this disease and fund groundbreaking research to find a CURE.

Here are some of Team Telomere’s recent accomplishments:

• Big, bold research: Team Telomere funded over $1.3M in patient-centered, high-impact TBD research towards potential treatments.
• Improved diagnosis: With the Diagnosis and Management Guidelines, Team Telomere has improved diagnosis of TBDs, with more than 400 copies (and and 425 symptom specific one-pagers) distributed in the last year alone to clinicians, researchers, and families worldwide.
• Increased awareness: Tom's TBD went undiagnosed for years because nobody identified it. Team Telomere is putting TBDs front and center in the medical community by regularly convening hundreds of international experts for cross-disciplinary Summits and Research Roundtables, in addition to presenting at several key medical conferences around the world.

Our small but mighty organization continues to make incredible progress, but our work is only just beginning.

This Giving Tuesday, Team Telomere aims to raise $100,000 to continue this life-changing work. My personal goal is $10,000, and every single gift helps fuel programs, research, and support that families rely on.
