I have a TBD that drastically changed my life. About 6 years ago, my TBD caused me to developed Pulmonary Fibrosis. I was running out of time. I quickly required a Lung Transplant.
Team Telomere's advocacy, funded research, and outreach worked to inform the medical community, including my Hematologist. Because of this, my Hematologist knew how I should be cared for to get me through one of this disorder's most devastating problems.
My daughter also has this same TBD. However, I have hope that new research and breakthroughs can help her deal with her condition and any medical crisis she may endure as well.
Since TBDs can be quite rare in the general population, typically only research FUNDED BY DONATIONS is moving forward fast enough.
