I am honored to be a board member of Team Telomere, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by telomere biology disorders (TBDs). These rare genetic conditions can lead to serious health issues such as bone marrow failure, pulmonary fibrosis, liver disease, and cancer. Research funding for TBDs is limited, making it crucial to support efforts aimed at finding improved treatments and cures. This year, our goal is to raise $40,000 to directly fund a pilot research grant. On June 8th, I will be supporting Team Telomere as part of the Million Dollar Bike Ride through Penn Medicine’s Orphan Disease Center to help achieve this goal.
