Help us fund research and eventually find a cure for Telomere Biology Disorders.
One of my favorite things about the rare disease community is how we come together to support one another. I recently joined the Board of Directors for Team Telomere to continue supporting an incredible rare disease organization and community. The Telomere Biology Disorder community of patients, families, scientists, doctors, advocates and volunteers endless excites me with their drive and passion. They are science-driven and patient-focused, and are making impressive strides in their research progress, clinical guidelines and patient care. I'm honored to get to know this community.
The Million Dollar Bike Ride is hosted by the Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center (ODC) and is an event used to used to directly fund research grants for the diseases represented. The ODC ensures 100% of the funds raised goes towards the pilot research grants with no overhead taken out. Over 750 cyclists will head to Penn's campus to ride 13, 34 or 72 miles in Philadelphia, while raising money for these research grants. Team Telomere will have a group of riders at the event and I will be there cheering them on!
